Slush is the focal point for startups and tech talent to meet with top-tier international investors, executives and media. In 2014, Slush brought together over 14.000 attendees and more than 3500 companies for the two-day event. xTurion became part of this big exhibition.
Armed with everything from a video camera to a moisture detector, xTurion helps guard against burglary, burst water pipes and fire, and can also monitor toddlers or house workers while the owner is away.
Ilya Grigoriev, the company’s business development officer, believes genuine relationships can be struck up at Slush – it’s not empty advertising.
“There are a lot of startups here, so we can gather some great experience,” he says. “It’s a great opportunity.”
Fueling his enthusiasm was the fact that he had accrued a dozen business cards of potential business partners and investors in the first hour alone.
Grigoriev expanded upon the benefits of the robot, which builds a map of the home automatically and doesn’t need to be configured before deployment.
“Ninety-eight percent of alarms are false alarms,” he said. “With xTurion, you can instantly check.”
Next Slush will take place in Helsinki on November 11-12th, 2015.
